Private Adult ADHD Assessment in Belfast

Pernovia Health offers a private, online adult ADHD assessment for adults aged 18 and over in Belfast and the surrounding areas. This is a remote service delivered by secure video call — we do not run a physical clinic in Belfast, and there is nowhere to travel to.

You complete a free screening questionnaire first, then meet an experienced adult ADHD clinician online for a comprehensive 2-hour assessment. Once your assessment has been reviewed and your report finalised, you'll have a 15-minute follow-up appointment to discuss your diagnostic outcome, receive your report and ask questions about the next steps.

Why adults in Belfast seek an ADHD assessment

Adults describe difficulty sustaining attention on work that genuinely matters to them, persistent disorganisation, restlessness, impulsivity, difficulty with emotional regulation, or a sense of working far harder than others for the same result.

ADHD is a neurodevelopmental condition: the pattern begins in childhood, appears in more than one setting and has a meaningful impact on day-to-day functioning. It is frequently under-recognised in adults, and it is often mistaken for anxiety, low mood or simply being disorganised.

An assessment offers a considered clinical view of those experiences, and language to understand them — whether or not ADHD is identified.

Do I need to travel to a clinic in Belfast?

No. The assessment is remote, so eligible adults attend privately by secure video call from home or another confidential space in Northern Ireland. There is no Belfast premises, no travel and no waiting room.

All you need is a private space, a reliable internet connection and a device with a camera and microphone. The same pathway is available across Northern Ireland.

Cost

What does an ADHD assessment in Belfast cost?

One assessment, one clearly explained fee: £650. There are no separate charges for the questionnaires, the 2-hour assessment, the 15-minute follow-up or the written report.

It is worth being clear about what the fee is for: you are paying for a comprehensive clinical assessment and your clinician's professional judgement, not for a diagnosis. If ADHD is not identified, the assessment has still done its job — you receive the clinical reasoning, the findings and appropriate recommendations in writing.

The process

How our online Belfast assessment works

  1. 1. Free initial screening

Complete a short, free online ADHD screening. It helps you explore whether the symptoms you're experiencing may be consistent with ADHD and whether a full assessment could help — it is not a diagnosis.

  2. 2. Book your appointment

Choose an available appointment and pay securely online. Applicable cancellation and rescheduling terms are shown before you pay.

  3. 3. Pre-assessment questionnaires

Before your appointment, you'll complete some questionnaires to help us understand your current symptoms, childhood experiences and how these affect your day-to-day life. We'll also ask for information from someone who knows you well where appropriate.

  4. 4. Your online assessment

A comprehensive 2-hour clinical assessment by secure video call. Your clinician explores the information from your questionnaires with you in detail during your assessment.

  5. 5. Review and report finalisation

After the appointment, your clinician reviews your assessment and finalises your comprehensive written report, normally within 7 days once sufficient information is available.

  6. 6. 15-minute follow-up

Your clinician discusses your diagnostic outcome, shares your completed report and answers any questions about the next steps.

Free initial screening

Not sure whether an ADHD assessment is right for you?

Take our free short ADHD screening questionnaire. The ASRS v1.1 is a brief screening questionnaire that can help identify whether your experiences may be consistent with ADHD. It is not a diagnostic test and the result does not confirm or exclude ADHD.

Anonymous and free. Your answers are not stored, and your screening result alone does not determine whether you have ADHD.

What is included?

Everything needed to reach and explain a clear clinical outcome: pre-assessment screening and questionnaires, a comprehensive assessment with an experienced clinician, consideration against recognised diagnostic criteria, an outcome discussion, a comprehensive written report with recommendations, and two complimentary post-assessment coaching sessions.

What happens after the assessment?

Your report is provided to you. You may share it with your GP or another healthcare professional if you wish; we do not send it on your behalf or seek out your GP's details, so you stay in control of who sees it.

Following your assessment, you can choose two complimentary post-assessment coaching sessions with an independent coaching partner, regardless of your diagnostic outcome. They can help you understand your outcome, reflect on what you have learned about yourself and consider practical next steps. Coaching is supportive and non-clinical, and is separate from assessment, diagnosis, medical treatment and psychological therapy. You can read the independent coaches' profiles and book directly with your preferred available partner using the route provided after your assessment.

An assessment is about finding the right explanation, not simply receiving a diagnosis.

Booking an adult ADHD assessment does not guarantee a diagnosis of ADHD. Whatever the outcome, the clinical findings will be explained clearly and a comprehensive written report will be provided.
